Moonee Valley on Saturday hosted a great card of racing with multiple runners on track for future spring riches!
The track itself however was quite disappointing with a distinct leader biased pattern on the day. Hopefully the MVRC can have the track racing more evenly in the weeks to come and over their Cox Plate Carnival!
From a form perspective, it will be a hard race day to assess. Performances of horses who raced upon the speed may have been flattered.
It was extremely hard to make ground down the outside, there will be a lot of forgive runs for those who looked to be only labouring around the home turn!
All be it a funny days racing, we believe there was a standout performer who should be followed in the weeks to come!
The DREAM THOROUGHBREDS owned Mr.Sneaky was brilliant in his first up run in the Carlyon Stakes.
With an abundance of speed on paper, Jockey Jye McNeil took a sit with Mr. Sneaky and picked the gaps as they rounded the home turn to fly home in the fastest last 600m of the day (33.83sec) to grab third .8 of a length off the winner Faatinah!
The son of High Chapparal will be better suited as he steps out in trip next start and looks to be on target to tackle the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield over the 1400m on September 22nd, where he was runner up last year.
